The group in a statement jointly signed by its chairman and secretary, Malam Shehu M. Makarfi and Hajiya Hafsat M. Baba, respectively appealed to the new government at various levels to pay greater attention to the health sector as well as adopt preventive measures that will promote good health and governance.
It also called on the 23 local government areas of the state to promptly release, on annual basis, the N2 million budgetary allocation in respect of child birth spacing/family planning.
The group further assured the state government of its readiness to cooperate in ensuring necessary positive changes to improve the quality of life of its citizens while it wished all elected officials the will to deliver on their promises as well as the wisdom and capacity to respond to the aspirations and expectations of the people.
ISSA is a transformed advocacy core group of the Nigeria Urban Reproductive Health (NURHI), which serves as an advisory body on social sector issues, especially reproductive health matters. It also consists of 25 member associations with various and related thematic focus on social sector and health.
