He asked the Federal Government to tackle the insurgency ahead of the election period.
Speaking in Abuja yesterday while receiving the new executive officers of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) led by president Austine Ayinle, Tambuwal said, “This new leadership is coming at a tough time in the life of this country. You have a big task and a big role to play, as we are about to go to the 2015 elections. I firmly believe that we can go into elections.
“The problem is that some are into election mode. The governance is suffering because they are more attuned to politics than governance. You have a role in this situation.
“2015 elections, I believe, should be held. Afghanistan recently conducted election. If Afghanistan, with all the crises there, could be able to conduct election, why not Nigeria?”
Earlier, Ayinle had urged the National Assembly to pass the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
