The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) said it has embarked on safety routine maintenance to forestall reoccurrence of electrical accident that claimed lives recently.

The IBEDC Chief Operating Officer, Engr. John Ayodele, described the electrical accident at Iwo/Adogba road which led to the death of two persons, Mr Kango and Mrs Kemi Adegoke as very unfortunate.

Commiserating with the relatives of the deceased, Ayodele said investigations have begun to ascertain the facts of the case, while all necessary protocols and reports to the regulatory authorities have been initiated.

“We are currently working with families of the  deceased at this difficult period to help provide  some measure of succour. Our team of engineers are already carrying out safety routine  maintenance to forestall such occurrences,” he said.

He assured electricity consumers across its network of its commitment to ensure hitch-free services at all times.

He also explained that measures have been put in place to ensure stability and smooth operations count forward.

He said although 2020 has been a year plagued by many challenges, IBEDC still demonstrated its commitment to excellent service delivery by creating more Customer Care Units across its franchise for quicker resolutions of complaints and faults, upgraded and installed some major electrical infrastructure.
