Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal
The Sokoto Youth Emancipation Frontier (SYEF) has reacted to recent comments by former Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on the performance of the current administration.
Tambuwal, speaking at a rally following his recent engagement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had expressed the intention of his new coalition to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and to, in his words, “reverse the misgovernance of the current administration.”
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Comrade Usman Musa, SYEF described the former governor’s remarks as unconvincing and out of touch with present realities.
The group maintained that Sokoto residents are more concerned with ongoing development efforts than with political disputes.
“Since Governor Ahmad Aliyu assumed office, Sokoto has seen positive steps in areas such as access to clean water, infrastructure development, staff welfare, and other community projects,” the statement read.
The group encouraged Tambuwal to embrace constructive engagement in the state’s democratic process, adding that Sokoto citizens are focused on sustaining progress and would prefer issue-based contributions from all political actors.
