The General Manager, EMC West Africa, Mr. Nicholas Travers, gave the hint in Lagos at an event to announce a partnership between EMC and Technology Distributions (TD), an arm of the Zinox Group.
According to him, adoption of appropriate solutions from EMC could actually cut down such huge cost on IT spending.
He stated that the prediction that by 2020, there will be seven billion connected people and 30 billion connected devices, would become a reality with new technology innovation.
On disruptive technology, Travers in a presentation said over 89 per cent of global companies have gone into extinction because they ignored the importance of technology to business.
He commended the surviving companies and advised them to embrace new technology solutions, especially, the product range of solutions currently being offered by EMC in data storage and management.
Travers explained that the partnership between EMC and TD is tailored towards helping business organisations address some of the technological needs.
He said the partnership will also bring technology solutions from EMC, closer to the people as a strategic relationship expected to expand the firm’s reach beyond the present coverage.
