The company is also said it is expanding its operations in Nigeria in order to support the growing market demand and customers needs in the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the President of EMC Europe, Middle East and Africa, Adrian McDonald said deepening EMC presence in Nigeria becomes imperative in view of unprecedented change in the technology industry in 2014.
According to him, technology as one era of computing gives way to the next built on mobile, social networking, cloud services and Big Data analytics technologies in which Nigerian businesses are looking for tools and support to help them manage this challenge and redefine the delivery of IT so that it becomes a truly competitive advantage to their business.
He noted that the expansion of EMC’s operations in Nigeria is also in light of the consistent growth of the local economy.
He said with the training centre in Nigeria, the company is extending its educational services offering to clients in the country through a local presence training programme that will enhance customers’ readiness and ability to redefine their IT performance.
McDonald stated that to achieve its goal of deepening EMC presence in Nigeria, the company has also open a new office in South Atlantic Petroleum Towers, 1 Adeola Odeku Street in Victoria Island, Lagos.

McDonald disclosed that the new training center in Lagos will deliver a comprehensive range of leading-edge IT courses to businesses, channel partners and service providers, as well as EMC employees.
According to EMC boss, there is a fast-growing knowledge gap globally in the area of information storage and analytics, due in part to the rapid adoption of virtualization technologies and the emergence of cloud computing infrastructure at a rate much higher than that of the available skills in the market.
