Speaking to journalists in his palace in Nafada, the emir said government should mount pressure on the contractor handling the project to resume work at the college’s permanent site.
The emir also called for the appointment of principal officers for the college in preparation for the formal take off of academic activities in the school.
He regretted that no work has commenced at the permanent site of the college, urging that government should hasten the commencement of work on the site.
“I am appealing to the governor to consider our plight and ensure the completion of the school and commencement of academic activities so that our children will have the opportunity of broadening their knowledge with little or no difficulty. This is our major appeal to the governor,” he said.
He said the establishment of the school in Nafada is a welcome development and the people of the emirate will remain grateful to the Dankwambo administration for finding it worthy to site the college in their emirate.
Hamza also appealed to Dankwambo to consider the construction of the 15 kilometer Nafada- Gombe Abba road and the Nafada-Daba to Birnin-Fulani-Munda to Bajoga-Mallam Sidi road all of which have suffered neglect for decades.
The emir said when constructed, the road will link the affected villages and boost economic activities in the area.
