In a strategic move to promote sports tourism and stimulate economic growth in Jigawa State, His Highness, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, CFR, paid a private visit to the prestigious Military Polo Club in Abuja.

The visit formed part of the Royal Father’s ongoing efforts to attract investors and strategic partners for the development of a modern, world-class Polo Club in Dutse, designed to position the state as a premier destination for equestrian sports, luxury hospitality, and high-end tourism in Northern Nigeria.

Upon arrival, His Highness was warmly received by the President of the Army Polo Club, Major General M. Laca, who conducted a detailed tour of the facility and shared insights into the operational and commercial frameworks behind running a successful polo establishment.

The visit attracted a distinguished audience of personalities and potential investors, signaling strong interest in the Emir’s visionary project.

Notably present was the Sardaunan Dutse, Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu, OFR, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Club and a key facilitator of the engagement.

The high-profile delegation also included, Alhaji Musa Haro, Dan Madamin Daura, Alhaji Saidu Malami, Dan Amar Azara and Alhaji Habib Habib, representing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)

During the interaction, His Highness highlighted Dutse’s potential as an ideal location for the project — citing its serene environment, cultural richness, and growing reputation as a peaceful and investor-friendly destination.

“The establishment of a modern polo club in Dutse is more than a sporting initiative; it is a vision for economic diversification and community development. We are seeking partners who share this vision and are ready to collaborate in building a facility that will be a pride of our region and a new jewel in Nigeria’s sporting crown,” the Emir stated.

In response, Major General Laca expressed the Army Polo Club’s support for the initiative and looked forward to potential collaborations aimed at advancing the sport of polo in Nigeria.

The Sardaunan Dutse, Tafida Babban Daura and chairman, Nigerian Army Polo resort and member board of Trustees Nigerian Army Polo Association (NAPA), Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu, reaffirmed his dedication to the development of his homeland and commended the Emir’s proactive leadership in driving investment and progress across Jigawa State.
