Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has appointed Alhaji Bappah Ibrahim Mohammed as the new Senior District Head of Gombe in the Gombe Emirate Council.

Alhaji Bappah, son of the late Emir Umaru Mohammed Kwairanga and uncle to the current emir, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, previously served as District Head of Jalo Waziri for 23 years.

A retired Director of Administration and Finance at the Gombe State House of Assembly, he succeeds his late cousin, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar, who died in August 2023.

Deputy Governor Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, who led the delegation presenting the appointment letters, urged the new district head to uphold justice, maintain peace, and promote environmental sustainability.

Alhaji Bappah commended Governor Yahaya’s leadership and pledged full support for his administration’s policies.

The delegation included Chief of Staff Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Commissioner for Local Government Alhaji Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri, and Director of Special Services Alhaji Bala Sarki.
