The Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, on Saturday presided over a grand turbaning ceremony in which three newly appointed district heads including the son of Katsina State Governor, were formally installed at the Emir’s Palace.
The event drew a large gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers and dignitaries from across Nigeria and neighbouring Niger Republic.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, attended the ceremony alongside Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and other top government officials.
Also present was the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahaya Daura, among several prominent personalities.

The Kauran Katsina and District Head of Rimi, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Abdulkadir, formally presented the appointees before the Emir conducted the traditional rites.
Those turbaned include Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda, son of the governor, who was installed as Gwagwaren Katsina II and District Head of Radda.
Others were Alhaji Ahmad Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, now Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama, and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, who assumed the title of Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.
In his address, the Emir described the occasion as unprecedented, noting that it recorded the largest turnout during his reign.
He commended guests for their orderly conduct and participation.
The monarch called for unity among the people, urging them to uphold values of peace, mutual respect and strong moral character.
He stressed the importance of faith and discipline in building a stable and progressive society, while cautioning against envy and disunity.
The Emir also charged traditional and religious leaders to intensify efforts toward promoting peace and social cohesion, emphasising that collective responsibility and care for the less privileged remain essential for societal growth.
Among other dignitaries present were the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel; the Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar Faruk; and the Sultan of Damagaram, Aboubacar Oumarou Sanda.
Also in attendance were prominent businessman Dahiru Barau Mangal, federal lawmakers, members of the state assembly, local government chairmen and other stakeholders.
