The Emir spoke in Garaku, headquarters of Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where INEC conducted a mock accreditation of would-be voters using the Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) at weekend.
The exercise exposed challenges the use of card readers may face in the conduct of the election because it failed to verify many finger prints of card holders.
Alhaji Agwai, who is also the chairman, state council of chiefs, said the call for INEC to re-engage field officers by training them on the new innovation became necessary due to lack of knowledge and inefficiency by some INEC staff on finger print verification.
The Emir, who was represented by Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Dan Makwayo of Lafia, said the demonstration by INEC has also  dispelled rumours and fears entertained by members of the public that the card readers would not work.
The traditional ruler who scored INEC high in the exercise, urged the public to give the electoral umpire the needed support  to ensure success of the exercise.
