The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has turbaned Alhaji Mu’azu Bamalli, a Deputy Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Magajin Garin Zazzau.

The turbarning followed the demise of late Magajin Gari and former Nigerian Ambassador to Morocco, Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, who died in Lagos while on transit to Morocco in October 2023.

Until his turbaning, the new Magajin Gari held the traditional title of Baraden Zazzau.

Both the late and current Magajin Gari are biological brothers of the Emir.

Similarly, another younger brother of the Emir was turbarned as the new Baraden Zazzau.

He is Aliyu (Sambo) Nuhu Bamalli who is the current Chief of Staff of the emirate council.

A Graduate of Economics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, with Master’s Degree from the same University, Aliyu have worked with FCMB Pensions formerly Legacy Pensions Managers Ltd.

Also turbarned was the new Gado-da-Masun Zazzau, Alhaji Aminu Musa Hassan, a staff of the Federal College of Education, Zaria.

Aminu succeeded his late father,. Alhaji Musa Hassan who died on November 15, 2023.

Speaking shortly after the turbarning, the Emir congratulated the newly turbaned traditionalists and tasked them to uphold the good image of the emirate and respect the norms, culture and traditions of people of Zazzau.

He cautioned them against overstepping their boundaries while discharging their assigned responsibilities, urging them to work in accordance with the rules.

Bamalli urged them to use their wealth of experiences and vast influence to bring more progress and development to the emirate while appealing to them to work as a team to sustain the existing peace, love and unity among the diverse people of Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna state and Nigeria as a whole.

In an interview, the new Gado da Masun Zazzau, Alhaji Aminu Musa Hassan pledged his continued loyalty to the Emir and the emirate council, while assuring to do his best to uplift the traditional heritage and sanctity of the royal dynasty.
