The Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna State, Ambassador Ahmed Bamalli, on Wednesday paid homage to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, reiterating his commitment to strengthening the centuries-long relationship between Zazzau and Kano emirates.
He said the visit was to further cement the mutual relationship which has been in existence since the time of Sheikh Usman Fodio.

The monarch noted that Zazzau and Kano emirates coexisted for a long period of time like one family, and expressed the hope that the tempo would be sustained.
“We are aware of the long-existing good relationship between the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, and the late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris.
“Whatever concerns Kano, we are also concerned about it, not only because we are neighbours, but because we are one family.
“I wish to inform you that all the royal houses in Zazzau Emirate are one family. In this entourage, there are representations from each of the houses.
“This indicated that 95 percent of the title holders and district heads are willing to work towards the development of the Zazzau Emirate,” Bamalli said.
Also speaking, Emir Bayero congratulated Bamalli over his appointment as the 19th Emir of Zazzau, describing it as a good development. (NAN)
