Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sunusi II, governors of Bauchi, Borno, Jigawa and other important dignitaries are at Azare for the burial of late emir of Katagum, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Umar.

The emir died early Saturday‎ at the age of 89.

He was survived by four wives and 49 children and was the 11th emir and succeeded his late father, Umar Farouq.

Prominent personalities among them the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mahmoud Yayale Ahmed who is also the Ajiyan Katagum, Comptroller General Nigerian Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) are also at the funeral.

Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari led federal government’s delegation to the funeral prayer of the late emir.

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sunusi Lamido Sunusi will lead the funeral prayer.
