The late Emir of Zuru, Major General(rtd) Muhammad Sani Sami Gomo II, has been buried in Kebbi State.
He was laid to rest after the Jumat prayer. The Emir, who died last Saturday in a London hospital after a brief illness at the age of 81 years, was buried in his personal residence in Zuru town.
The Chief Imam of Zuru Central Mosque, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Tanko, led the funeral prayer for the late Emir immediately after the two rakaat Jumat prayer was held.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who arrived around 11.43 am with aircraft marked 5N-DOY; Sultan of Sokoto, Emir Kano, Emir of Yauri, Emir Gummi, Emir of Anka, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State; and Lt Gen.(rtd) Dambazau, were at the graveyard where the emir was buried.

Others at the funeral prayer included Estu Nupe, Alhaji Yahyah Abubakar, Emir of Kangara, Gummi; Emir of Anka, former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Dankingari, Minister of Humanitarian, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, among others.
All markets in Zuru Emirate were closed in honour of the late emir, while all major streets and roads linking to the Mosque, venue of the funeral, were filled with a crowd of people who came to pay their last respect to their emir.
