Director-General of NECA Mr Olusegun Oshinowo who disclosed this in Lagos at a press conference regretted the role the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) played in getting manufacturers to upgrade their cement without proof that the long known grade can no longer be sustained.
He maintained that the policy has severe implications on workers and some of his members in the country.
SON recently advised manufacturers to upgrade from 32.5grade to 42.5 grade of cement in view of the increasing cases of building collapse in the country.
Oshinowo spoke on the success of the local content law in the nation’s oil and gas sector and emphasized the need to replicate same in the construction and other sectors of the country.
