The Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, Thursday, began a stakeholders’ engagement on security matters in Osun State in line with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former governor, who said he would meet different stakeholders in the state as directed by President Buhari, kick-started the engagement with a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Chief Bisi Akande, and the state governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
The closed-door meeting took place in Ila-Orangun at the residence of Akande who is also a former governor of the state.
Though the details of the meeting were not disclosed, Aregbesola said insecurity, amongst other issues, would be the focus of the engagement.
Though there were insinuations that the meeting in Ila-Orangun was initiated by former Lagos State governor and APC national leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to settle the rift between Aregbesola and Oyetola, that could not be ascertained.
The aides of the former and incumbent governors also dismissed the insinuation as untrue.
