The Ekiti State Government has ordered the closure of all private and public schools for the rest of the week in the state.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Kofoworola Aderiye, gave the order on Monday as a proactive step to safeguard the lives of the pupils, students, teachers and other staff members who are finding it difficult to get to their respective schools.
In a statement released yesterday by the Chief Information Officer of
the ministry, Abiobola Dada, said school activities will continue next week Monday, October 26th, 2020.
It will be recalled that the EndSARS protesters disrupted many school activities on Monday due to the nature the protesters went about the
protests as many staff and pupils, students have to trek a long distance
before getting to school and returning home in a chaotic situation.
