Youths in tertiary institutions in Oyo state under the banner of the Oyo State Leading Patriot, on Tuesday, visited some selected markets where their goods were EndSARS protest in the state.
The founder of the group, Asiwaju Nurudeen Akinade who led over 500 youths from all the tertiary institutions across the state, urged residents to embrace dialogue, rather than destroying and looting goods.
Some of the markets visited by the group were; Bodija market, Molote Market, Orita Merin, Agbeni, Oguna and Sango market, Aleshinloye, Ojoo market
Speaking at the markets, Akinade appealed to market men and women across the state, saying their aim was to ensure peaceful coexistence of the residents of the state regardless of their tribe and religion.
Reacting to their peace moves, the Iyaloja of Ibadan land, Chief Iswat Oyinlola Ameringun, said the #EndSARS protest was peaceful at the initial stage but it was later hijacked by suspected hoodlums in the markets.
She however applauded Akinade and his team in ensuring peace in Ibadan land, urging the Oyo State government to assist the affected traders.
