Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday on phone, the player who is recovering from what he described as a minor injury he sustained in the match against Ocean Boys said he was approached by some of the leading clubs in the NPL but after careful considerations, he decided to stay with the former African Champions.

He said he is fully committed to Enyimba FC and he would join forces with some of the remaining stars in the club to ensure that Enyimba wins something on the local and continental scene.

His words: It’s true I had some offers from other clubs in the NPL but after careful study of the situation on ground, I decided to stay back in Enyimba. You know this is a big club and one cannot just move to another club without the same pedigree.

Although we could not win anything last season, I hope to work hand in hand with some of the prominent players in the team to help Enyimba win more laurels this season.

Eneji maintained that the standard of the NPL is getting higher so fans should not expect his club to always win without a fight.

“Its true we are a strong side but the other clubs too have developed. It is therefore not always easy to beat them without a fight.

“We hope to keep doing our best. Things may not be as good as we want but we are ready to manage the situation on ground”.
