The Executive Director, Research and Advocacy, Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED), Mr. Sunday Oduntan, has attributed non-metering of its customers to energy theft through bypass, illegal connection and load diversion by customers.

Oduntan said this on Tuesday during information Sharing/Customer Forum of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) in Ologbo, Ulemo and Usen communities in Edo State, urging customers to report those bypassing their meters by way of whistle blowing.

Also speaking, BEDC Edo Chief State Head, Engr. Fidelis Obishai, said the communities would soon begin to enjoy improved power supply as BEDC had concluded plans to bring 7.5MVA in addition to the one installed recently.

Earlier, the communities had complained of poor supply, estimated billing, non-metering, and fallen poles.
