The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh in a bid to promote Nigeria’s sports economy has met with top echelons of the sport conglomerate in Seville, Spain at the ongoing World Football Summit.
Enoh held discussions with FIFA’s Secretary General, Fatma Samoura on ways to drive sports development in the most populous black nation in the world while meeting with Bangladeshi sports investor and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, as the duo advanced discussions on sports investment.
According to Enoh, the summit affords him the opportunity to forge alliances, foster understanding, and drive innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the football community.
“The significance and importance of my participation in the World Football Summit marks the beginning of an intensive and productive period of deliberations, negotiations, and exchange of ideas.
“The summit promises to forge alliances, foster understanding and drive innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the football community. It also speaks to opening Nigeria up for better footballing and sporting opportunities, as well as collaborations with other countries in a bid to reposition sports in our nation,” he said on Twitter.
Nigeria’s delegation at the global football event includes former Special Adviser on Sports to the President and board member of the Nigerian Premier Football League, Daniel Amokachi, 2nd Vice President, Nigeria Football Federation and Chairman, Nigeria Premier Football League, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye.
The delegation also includes the Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Sports Development on Strategy and Implementation, Brendan Ndifon and Deputy Director at the Ministry, Mr Olumide Bamiduro.
