As we are all aware, unemployment and poverty are two of the major problems confronting the country.  And this is because Nigeria has been battling challenges such as bad leadership, corruption, ethno-religious nepotism, deficiency in good governance and non-adherence to the rule of law.
Statistics from the government agencies such as the National Bureau for Statistics have placed the nation’s unemployment rate around 31.2%. More worrisome is the fact that our high institutions are churning out graduates with no skills into the labor market.
The development is responsible for the growing rate of crime in the country and it is imperative that something urgent is done to tackle the situation.  One sure way of addressing the problem is by supporting youths to start businesses.  Youths must work more on developing themselves, rather than relying on the government. Even if the government provides all that is necessary to young entrepreneurs, without the commensurate capacity to make it work things will remain the same.
