Amb. Hon. Belusochukwu M. Enwere has expressed gratitude to supporters and partners as he marked the completion of his five-year tenure as National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
Enwere spoke during a thanksgiving and reception ceremony held on Saturday at Maria Mater Ecclesia Catholic Church in Ahiara, Mbaise, Imo State, to celebrate the end of his leadership term from 2021 to 2026.
Addressing guests at the event, Enwere described his tenure as a period of growth and engagement for the organisation, noting that the youth body carried out programmes aimed at empowering young people and strengthening collaboration among Christian groups.
“Today, as I reflect on my five-year journey as National Chairman of YOWICAN from 2021 to 2026, my heart is filled with gratitude,” he said.
“This period has been one of growth and service, during which we worked to empower young Christian minds and strengthen unity among our members.”
Enwere acknowledged the support of several national and religious leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration’s policies created opportunities for youth participation in national development.
He also thanked the First Lady of Nigeria, whom he described as a patroness of the organisation, for her support to youth-focused initiatives.
“I appreciate the encouragement and support that have enabled many of our programmes and initiatives,” he said.
The former YOWICAN chairman also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, for his mentorship and support.
According to him, the encouragement from political and community leaders contributed to the organisation’s activities during his tenure.
Enwere further acknowledged Barrister Seyi Tinubu and members of the Tinubu family for their encouragement and support for youth initiatives.
He also thanked religious leaders, including the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), for their guidance and collaboration with the youth body.
“I also extend my appreciation to the Catholic Church leadership and the Christian Association of Nigeria for their moral guidance and support throughout the years,” he said.
The former chairman expressed gratitude to his family, associates and members of YOWICAN who supported the organisation’s programmes during his tenure.
“As I give thanks to God today, I do so with joy, believing that the work we have started will continue to benefit young people and contribute to national development,” he added.
