Enyimba raid Heartland as Kwame, Tambe join Remo Stars

Eight-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba have depleted the ranks of regional rivals, Heartland FC by signing four of their players.   

The players, Chibuike Nwaiwu, Nonso Nzediegwu, Murphy Ndukwu and Chijioke Mbaoma will don the People’s Elephant colours as Finidi George looks to rejig his squad ahead of his second season in charge.

Nwaiwu, a combative midfielder has joined on a two year deal and serves as a direct replacement for Farouk Mohammed who has left the club after five years.

Wing forwards Nonso Nzediegwu and Murphy Ndukwu will bring the pace and explosiveness that headlines their marauding styles on the flanks.

Chijioke Mbaoma arrives with versatility, possessing the impressive ability to play across the attack line. The power-and-pace forward penned a two year deal and will be handed the number 15 shirt.

Similarly, the former African champions have also concluded a three year deal for James Oronsaya.

Oronsaya joins from Gateway United where he was captain and undoubtedly the team’s mainstay, scoring five goals in the 2021/22 Nigeria National League season from his deep midfield role.

In the same vein, Remo Stars have completed the signing of Franck Kwame from Nigerien club, AS Douanes.

Kwame was a key member of the AS Douanes side that lost to Kwara United in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round fixture last month.

“I am impressed with the club facilities as it reminded me of my first professional contract in Turkey,” Kwame told the club’s official website.

“I’m happy to be here and ready to give my all.”

The Sky Blue Stars have also completed the signing of goalkeeper, Charles Tambe and winger Godwin Odibo from Shooting Stars and Ikorodu City respectively.
