Epe LG distributes N20m to 2,000 residents

Ms Surah Animashahun, Chairman, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, has gifted N20 million cash relief to 2,000 residents to support them.

Animashahun, represented by her Vice-Chairman, Mr Sikiru Owolomoshe, disbursed the funds at the council’s secretariat in Epe, on Thursday.

She said the gesture was to provide succour to the people at the grassroots as the country navigates economic challenges.

According to her, N10,000 cash palliative being distributed to 2,000 residents across the eight political wards within the community.

 “The initiative is aimed at alleviating the financial strain on the most vulnerable in the community.

 “The beneficiaries are drawn from different political wards and in all walks of life; beneficiaries include artisans, the elderly, traders, transport workers, youths and individuals living with disabilities,” she said.

Animashahun said the initiative was the eighth edition, showing the council’s commitment to the welfare of the people in the community.
