Bukayo Saka’s early goal was enough for Arsenal to sink Brighton 1-0 in their EPL match on Wednesday night.
The Gunners fought their way to all three points at the Amex stadium thanks to their talisman, on a night thei title rival Manchester City were surprisingly held by Nottingham Forest 2-2 at the Etihad stadium.

Saka’s tame shot took a deflection off Carlos Baleba and rolled through the goalkeeper’s legs to hand Arsenal a lead they did not relinquish despite Brighton’s best efforts.

The North Londoners held on to claim a third win on the bounce for 67 points. They are trailed by a Man City side that went ahead twice and were pegged back on oth occasions by relegation-threatened Forest.

Antoine Semenyo Volleyed home the opener but Morgan Gibbs-White produced a backheeled effort to level. Rodri restored City’s lead with a header from a corner kick but Elliot Anderson ensured a share of the spoils with a well-struck shot from distance.

Chelsea snapped a three-match winless run with a 4-1 win at Aston Villa, Joao Pedro scoring a hattrick in a win that lifts Chelsea to fifth place on the log.

Manchester United lost their first match under Michael Carrick, 2-1 to ten-men Newcastle United no thanks to William Osula’s 90th-minute.
