The Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) last week inducted 133 newly registered members into the estate surveying profession. 
Speaking at the event, Chairman ESVARBON, William O. Odudu, said ESVARBON is an agency of government that was set up to regulate the practice of estate surveying.
He said currently there are 4,053 registered estate surveyors over the past 42 years, which according to him, is inadequate for Nigeria’s 170 million population hence the move by the board to register more members.
Odudu noted that bulks of the inductees are mainly from the northern part of the country comprising senior members of the profession who have not registered or not completed their registration.
He also said that the law empowers the Board to also register persons who practise estate surveying in their respective countries and have attained the minimum standard requirement for registration in Nigeria.
The ESVARBON chairman said the board is focusing on reducing the  nefarious activities of quacks and would battle them to a standstill by registering more to practise the noble profession in Nigeria
