The Estate Surveying and Valuation Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) has inducted 175 elected associate members of the profession at its 41st induction in Lagos
Speaking at the event, president/chairman of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Esv Rowland Enyinna Abonta, said the commitment of the board to its regulatory role has assisted greatly in the development of the profession in the country.
Abonta said the National Council of NIESV has approved the acquisition of a software for checking plagiarism for its Membership Committee to ensure that the quality of new members of the profession meets International Standards.
“The use of Biometric registration is to be deployed for subsequent NIESV examinations in order to enhance standards. The Education and Membership Committees of The Institution have included key members of the Board in their membership for the same purpose of improving standards,” he added.
He called on the Board to fast track the processes of validating the Nigerian Valuation Standards known as the Green Book.
“Members of the profession are waiting anxiously for the formal approval of the Green Book for their use. This will further improve the quality of valuation services in Nigeria,” he said.
