In marking its 30th anniversary, Eterna Oil Plc has renovated the library block of Comprehensive High School, Alapere in Ketu, Lagos state.
At the handing over of the library, the firm’s Legal Adviser, Bunmi Agagu described the project as a commitment to corporate social responsibility.
She said: “Eterna as a company has come this far because of the learning and development it has gone through.”
Managing Director, Mahmud Tukur represented by the Executive Director of Finance, Kudi Badmus said: “We are identifying with this project because it gives us the opportunity to grow and develop young people who are the future of our camp at and country.”
She said the library has been fitted with solar panels to guarantee constant power supply that will make it convenient to study.
“We hope some of you will turn out to be doctors and engineers or even teachers, drawing from the materials we have provided,” She added.
Principal of the school, Giwa Oyebola said: “You have built a very relevant educational edifice because the library is a repository of knowledge in every learning environment.”
Representative of the Tutor General, Permanent Secretary Education District 2, Maryland, Shadare James said the modern library will enhance thatching and learning for both the students and their teachers.
