Head, IT Strategy and Architecture, Etisalat, Toye Soladoye, made this known while addressing some secondary school students at a career counselling programme organised by the company in collaboration with the Lagos Empowerment and Resource Network (LEARN), an NGO founded by the Lagos First Lady, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola in Lagos.
According to Soladoye, it has become increasingly necessary for young people to start embracing ICT because the world itself has become a digitised world just as the introduction of ICT has increased human productivity.
 “There are many reasons why people across are embracing ICT and these include the fact that we are living in a digitised world, its usage brings about increased productivity, improved quality and accuracy, higher speed of execution, customer-facing system, internal enterprise system, among other advantages,” Soladoye said.
Earlier in his address, the company Chief Executive Officer who was represented by the Director, Leadership and Organisation Development, HR, Rabi Isma said the career counseling programme by their employees is actually geared towards corporate social responsibility.
