This would be done through contribution to a Trust Fund established by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), recipient of the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.
In a statement from the European Union in Abuja it read that the programme covers the transport, treatment and disposal of the chemical materials and effluents outside Syria.
The statement further read that the destruction will be implemented jointly by the OPCW and the United Nations, in order to secure their safe and environmentally sound destruction.
“This is an unprecedented programme in terms of scale and timing in the history of chemical weapons destruction,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the government of Syria said it is ready to execute all the agreement from the second Geneva conference as well as what Syrian people accept no matter what.
