Governor Saidu Dakingari, while receiving the materials over the weekend in Birnin Kebbi, said when he took the mantle of leadership of the state in 2007, there was only one X-ray machine in the state at Argungu.
“The trend has changed as almost all the hospitals in the state have at least one  static and one mobile X-ray machine,” the governor disclosed.
He said government will continue to give the health sector utmost priority adding that, “access to health care facilities had also received a boost as each local government area of the state has at least one General hospital.”
He commended the European Union’s MNCH project  for augmenting the effort of the state government in improving health care delivery in the state.
Handing over the items to the governor, the Director, National Primary  Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Ado Muhammad said the MNCH project was a key programme aimed at improving maternal and child health care in the country.
Muhammad, who was overwhelmed by the achievements of the Kebbi State government in the health sector said such effort had helped in reducing maternal and child mortality and morbidity rate in the state.

 Also speaking, the Executive Secretary, Kebbi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), Dr. Abubakar Koko, promised to use the items judiciously so as to achieve the set objectives for which the items were donated.
