Borroso announced in a statement that the EU will provide €25 million (N5.5billion) per year in the period between 2014 and 2020 to fund vaccines and immunisation programmes worldwide.
“The new support – is more than double that was committed in previous years. It will go to the GAVI Alliance, a non-profit organisation focused on saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries,” Borroso said.
