The immediate past director general of Administrative Staff College (ASCON), Badagry, Lagos, Mr Adewale Ajibade Peters, has bagged the college’s meritorious award after putting in 35 years of service.
At a ceremony organised by the management of ASCON and staff in Badagry, Peters was rewarded with meritorious service award.
The Director, Head of Computer, Information and Management, ASCON, Mr Adebayo Alabi, said that Peters did not only serve well while  in the college but he also succeeded in addressing, “frontally, the challenge of epileptic power supply and inadequate infrastructures especially at the college’s hotel, among others”.
Born on March 20, 1952, Adewale Peters attended Government Secondary  School, Ilorin, Kwara State, where he obtained his West African Senior Secondary School Certificate and Higher School Certificate in 1971 and 1973 respectively. He then proceeded to the Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria, where he bagged B.sc in Biochemistry in 1976 and, thereafter,  bagged Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the  University of Lagos (UNILAG) in 1978.
After working as a senior executive officer (Account) with the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) from February to August 1979 and a management consultant to Centre for Management Development (CMD) between August 1979 and April 1981, Peters joined the services of ASCON in September 1981 as principal management development officer (PMDO).
He was appointed on June 20, 2008, by the late president Umaru Musa Yar’adua as the director-general while president Goodluck Jonathan, on June 20, 2012, reappointed him to serve for second term in office.
