Ex-BBC World Service Editor releases memoir

A broadcaster and former BBC World Service Editor, Venuste Nshimiyimana, has released his highly anticipated memoir, ‘Candid Intent.’

The book, which was released on Friday, delves into Nshimiyimana’s personal journey, offering a message of hope, resilience, and the courage to pursue one’s dreams in the face of adversity.

Nshimiyimana, who witnessed his home country – Rwanda – descend into chaos during the 1994 genocide, uses his own experiences in mainstream media to challenge readers to reflect on their life’s purpose.

Candid Intent is more than just a personal story; it serves as an insider’s masterclass on journalism and provides a unique perspective on the complexities of human nature.

Through the lens of tragedy, resilience, kindness, and tolerance, Nshimiyimana dissects the human experience, celebrating the indomitable spirit that can lead to triumph.

Lamine Konkobo, fellow ex-BBC broadcaster and publisher at Haikonic Books, describes Candid Intent as more than just motivational.

“Venuste’s memoir is a testament to the power of clear intent and the stubborn pursuit of one’s own journey with an undevided mind. On top of being a template for how to transform adversity into fuel, this is a significant contribution to the literature on journalism and conflict reporting,” Konkobo said.

Candid Intent will be available worldwide in multiple formats, including eBook, paperback, and hardcover on December 22nd, 2023.

The book can be purchased through Amazon and Apple Books. Bookshops and academic institutions can place wholesale orders via Ingramspark.
