Ex-convict bags 2 years for stealing phone

A magistrate court in Osogbo, Osun State, has sentenced a 28-year-old man, Kamorudeen Fatai, to two years imprisonment for stealing a phone and N10,000.

The police prosecutor, Fatoba Temitope, told the court yesterday that Fatai, who he said had just completed a two-year jail term, committed

another crime on January 21, 2019 at about 2.30am at Tanishi, Osogbo, where he stole some phones and a sum of N10,000.

Fatai pleaded guilty to the offences levelled against him by the police and pleaded for leniency.

The magistrate, Mrs O. A. Oloyede, while delivering judgment, expressed worry

that the man failed to turn a new leaf after completing his previous jail term.
