An ex-convict, one Moruf Wasiu, has been jailed once again by an Ejigbo Chief Magistrates’ court but, this time around for six months for his involvement in a robbery case.

Before his conviction, the accused had confessed before the court that he had been stealing for a long time and had dreams to be a big time armed robber.

The accused made the confession at the Ejigbo Magistrates Court, where he was arraigned for stealing.

In his testimony before the court, the Ogun State-born armed robber, revealed that he started stealing after his mother died and his father, who lives at Ijegun area, was unable to stop him from stealing before he went deeper into it.

Though the convict denied ever using gun to steal, he claimed to have the ability to enter into victims apartments from where he would cart away any valuable he finds in the apartment.

Wasiu told the presiding Magistrate that throughout the years he was stealing, he never knew he would be caught and was dreaming to be a big time armed robber before the arrest.

He admitted that he has now realized the risk involved and may not continue with the criminal life when released from prison.

He said he might likely go back to the work he learnt as a panel beater after serving his prison term.

EkoTrust report that Wasiu was arrested by police operatives, after his gang  went to 18, Church Street, in Ijegun, and burgled a shop belonging to one Joseph Ejikeme, in the early hours and carted away some items.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O Shomade, found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to six months imprisonment with an option of N20,000.
