A former staff member of the Daily Trust, Abdul Azeez Suleiman, has died at age 62.
Confirming the death, Sabo Suleiman, the deceased’s brother, said he died after being discharged from the hospital following a protracted illness in Zaria on Wednesday.
He is survived by a wife, 12 children and many siblings.
Suleiman’s remains were buried in Tukur Tukur cemetery in Zaria on Wednesday.
Suleiman was a seasoned journalist who worked with the Daily Trust for years before becoming the News Editor of the then-Weekly Trust.
He also held editorial positions in other national dailies, including The Summit and The Road.
Late Suleiman also served as the spokesman of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) and later Northern Elders Forum, NEF.
