A former secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the FCT, Mr. John Bako Adayilo and about 2000 of his supporters have dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Rubochi ward of Kuje Area Council. 

Prominent among those that defected to the ruling party were  the former secretary of the Local Education Authority (LEA) of the council, Mr. Sunday D. Kaka. 

Speaking after their defection on Saturday, Adayilo, who was also the first chairman of the council, said he and his supporters decided to join the ruling party because of the ongoing transformation of  the country by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. 

He said APC has within two years of its administration  achieved a lot  in the area of agriculture, anti-corruption and security of lives and property of citizens. 

He assured the leaders and party stakeholders at the event that he and his supporters would work for the success of the APC  in 2019 general elections.

Also speaking, the chairman of the FCT APC, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, who received the decampees, commended the former FCT PDP scribe and his supporters for making a wise decision by pitching their tent with the APC in the council.  

He assured that the party would treat them like other members and stakeholders of the party. 

On his part, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, said with the defection of the  former FCT PDP scribe and his supporters to the APC, there was no other party that was on ground in Kuje, apart from the ruling APC.
