The former secretary of Kogi State Football Association has been saddled with the responsibility of bringing the desired changes in the club which is sponsored by the Kogi State government.

Speaking to Feverpitch, the new Team Manager said he was honoured by the appointment and would do everything within his capacity to transform the club.

He said having served as co-ordinator of the National U-20 team for several years, he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the club which is one of the oldest state owned clubs in the country.

Ajakpo said he would put his experience to good use by ensuring that the club though an amateur side, is ran professionally.

He said he would encourage the team’s technical crew to recruit the best players within the state and outside for enhanced performance.

The Team Manager said once the right technical crew and players are assembled, Kogi United would within no time achieve its set goals.

“I am honoured by this appointment. It is a call to duty and I am ready to give my best. Having served as the co-ordinator of the Flying Eagles, I am eminently qualified to handle this responsibility.

“I will use my experience that I have acquired as a former scribe of the state FA and co-ordinator of the junior Eagles to improve the fortunes of the club.

“If given the necessary support, I will make sure we assemble the best technical crew and players.  Once this is done, Kogi United will go places under the new management”, he assured.

Ajakpo said he would not disappoint those who have reposed so much confidence in him.

“It is not about me alone. It is going to be a collective effort but I will give the club the much needed guide”, he said.
