A former Gombe State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Hon. Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami is dead.
He died Saturday in Gombe after a brief illness.
His remains were buried after a funeral prayer, which held at the Gombe Emir’s Palace Jumu’at Mosque.
The deceased served as Commissioner of Information and Culture, from November 2019 to March 2021, during the first tenure of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

Late Kwami who worked with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), was dropped during a minor cabinet reshuffle on March 2, 2021.
Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the former commissioner.
He recalled late Ibrahim Kwami’s significant contributions to the development of the state during his service as commissioner of information, noting that he demonstrated exceptional commitment and a deep sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor noted the deceased’s exemplary career in the NRS, “where he earned a reputation as a professional, financial expert and a committed public servant whose wealth of experience benefited both the state and the nation.”
He described the death late Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami as a huge loss not only to his family and the Kwami community but also to the state and Nigeria at large.
Governor Yahaya conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the management and staff of the NRS, the people of Kwami community, as well as his friends and associates.
He prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannat Firdaus and give his family the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
