A former casual staff of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has been remanded in prison custody for attempting to defraud some residents of their money.
The accused, Ahmad Hussain was reported to police by one Jamal Muktar of Chiranchi Quarters in Kano metropolis that the accused had tried to deceive and collect some money from him while posing as KEDCO’s personnel.
The accused pleaded guilty to one count charge of attempt to commit an offence which contradicts section 95 of the Penal Code Law.
In her ruling, Senior Magistrate Rahama Mu’azu ordered that the accused to be remanded in prison custody for two weeks or to pay a fine of N3, 000.
