Former minister of Sports, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, has called for an urgent review of the National Policy on Education in view of the current global economic reality.
He said for any country to fit into the current global economic situation, there is a standard template around the world that the educational policy must follow.
Professor Adedoja who is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, made the assertions in Ibadan recently at an interactive session with journalists.
The ex-minister noted that the National Policy on Education in Nigeria which was promulgated in 1977 has not been reviewed till date, saying virtually all sectors of the educational system in the country as a whole require a review, and not the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) alone, as being demanded in some quarters.
