This is the act of using female teenagers to blow up public places. As Nigerians marked this year’s Eid-el-Fitri celebration on Monday, two teenage girls said to be between the ages of 17 and 19 struck in two different parts of Kano city, killing and injuring many. One of the places attacked was an NNPC mega station

Because of this, the former minister of education and one of the forerunners of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili raised an alarm over the increasing use of teenage girls as suicide bombers by insurgents. Recently, it seems they have changed their mode of operation, using female suicide bombers, a trend which many Nigerians are worried about. In a series of tweets Ezekwesili expressed worry over the situation saying the Chibok girls who have been in captivity since April 14; need to be rescued fast from the clutches of evil. Below are some of her tweets from her handle @obyezeks: “This new trend & serial pattern of “FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBERS” surely, should PARTICULARLY worry us. It worries me stiff because of our #ChibokGirls”.
Another tweet via her handle @obyezeks read: “Kano again and again. Female suicide bombers again and again – becoming a trend. Our #ChibokGirls  still in the enemy den. Are we THINKING?
“Regardless of our disappointment, we must STAND RESOLUTE in DEMANDING ACTION for successful rescue of our #ChibokGirls. That’s our FOCUS” she said in another tweet.
