The former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Taraba State.

Mamman made his position known while addressing a large crowd of supporters at his campaign office in Jalingo ,at the weekend.

Sale stated that he has commenced wide consultations on his ambition with stakeholders across the 16 local government areas of the state ahead of the  2027 polls.

He called on  residents of the state to remain steadfast and embrace a focused approach to governance, and stressed the need for leadership that is anchored on clear policies and measurable development outcomes.

Engr. Mamman expressed concern over the persistent gaps in infrastructure, governance and socio-economic growth, adding that, Taraba state is under developed  compared to other states created  at the same time with it.

“Taraba State was created 34 years ago, yet we are lagging behind in the delivery due to  absence of basic infrastructure including good road network both in the state capital and in rural areas.

“The lack of development could be traced to lack of good governance and has created  total absence of infrastructural development that our people desperately need,” he said.

The Former Power Minister, stated  that his renewed political engagement was driven by sustained calls from stakeholders and residents who believe in his capacity to reposition the state.

He also  identified key sectors requiring urgent attention to include roads network, agriculture, Education as well as  security and the economy, adding that  only purposeful leadership can unlock Taraba’s potential.
