Former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has responded to circulating videos and reports by Hadiza Musa Baffa.

Briefing newsmen on the ex-minister’s behalf in Abuja on Monday, Abdulaziz Ibrahim, SAN, said the materials in circulation contain claims aimed at discrediting his client.

He described them as misleading and inconsistent with established facts.

Ibrahim explained that the matter had been taken before a competent court of law, which delivered judgment in Turaki’s favour on the paternity case brought against him, ruling that the child in question was not his.

The judgment, he noted, has not been appealed.

He further clarified that previous petitions and police investigations on the matter did not substantiate the allegations, with some cases withdrawn by the complainant herself.

“Our silence has been misinterpreted, and unsuspecting members of the public risk being misled. It is important to set the records straight.

“The truth is documented, the court has spoken, and no amount of social media campaigns will change the facts,” Ibrahim stated.

He urged the public and the media to be cautious in handling unverified claims and to rely on court records and official findings in matters of such sensitivity.
