Ex-PDP govs knock FG over rising insecurity

Former governors under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have chided the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration over rising security challenges in the country.

The past governors, at a meeting in Abuja led by their Chairman and former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, also said free, fair and credible elections are not guaranteed under the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting which was signed by Aliyu’s Director, Media and Communications, Bala B. B, the PDP chieftains enjoined members of the party to cultivate the virtue of forgiveness, love, peace, maturity and tolerance of one another.

“The meeting called on all former state governors in the country, irrespective of their political lining, affiliations and sympathy, to come together to mainstream in the search for a workable solution to the myriad security challenges bedevilling the country,” the communiqué said.
