Former member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives, Francis Ottah Agbo, has partnered with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on its campaign against illicit drug use in his constituency and Benue State.
Speaking during the campaign held over the weekend in Benue State, Agbo who was the immediate past Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotic Drugs and the Spokesperson of the Minority Caucus said, the campaign was part of his untiring effort to curb drug abuse in Nigeria by partnering with the NDLEA in its fight against trade and use of illicit drugs.
He charged the youth to desist from illicit drug intake which is capable of destroying their future, adding that drug abuse has a cost effect on abusers who engage in armed robbery, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and rape.
The former lawmaker said no one engaging in such nefarious activities do so with clear eyes but under the influence of drugs.
He also implored parents, traditional and religious leaders to join hands with the NDLEA to campaign vigorously in their domains in order to win this fight.

He commended the leadership of the NDLEA for its dexterous effort in curbing this menace hoping it will yield the desired result.
Resource persons from the National and Benue State headquarters of NDLEA warned about the effects of drug abuse which are social, psychological and physical as well as ways to curb the menace and tackle the challenges it brings.
The resource persons who spoke include Staff Officer Sensitisation, Drug demand and Reduction Directorate NHQs Abuja Superintendent of Narcotics Owonubi Gbenga Michael, Staff Officer Drug demand and Reduction Unit, Benue State Command, Superintendent of Narcotics Ajaver Terngu and others.
