Former Nigerian striker, Mike Eneramo, died during training in Kaduna, on Friday.
The incident happened in the early hours of the day during routine fitness training at a Primary school pitch in the Ungwan Yelwa region of Kaduna State.
According to reports, Eneramo suffered a heart attack, and died before reaching the hospital.
The Esperance of Tunisia legend was 40 years old at the time of his demise.
Eneramo retired from football in 2018 after a three-year stint with Sivasspor, Besiktas, Istanbul Basaksehir, Karabukspor, and Manisaspor in Turkey.

He had a second stint with Esperance before retiring at Cypriot side Türk Ocagi Limasol SK.
The former Lobi Stars player was highly successful in Tunisia where he won the Tunisian Ligue 1 five times and was league highest goal scorer for two seasons. He was also crowned highest goalscorer in the CAF Champions League in the 2009/10 season, and won the Tunisian Cup thrice.
Tunisia lured the energetic striker for the country’s national team, but he turned down the overture to represent the Super Eagles.
His debut for Nigeria was against Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz in a friendly match in London on 11th February 2009, which ended goalless. In his second game, also a friendly, he scored his first goal for Nigeria against the Republic of Ireland in a 1-1 draw in London on 29th May 2009. He also played against France in Nigeria’s 1-0 win in Saint Etienne four days later.
Five days later, he featured in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Kenya in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Abuja, and also played the home-and-away ties with Tunisia (0-0 in Tunis and 2-2 in Abuja) in the same race. It was in the home game against Tunisia in Abuja on 6th September 2009 that he scored his most memorable goal for the Super Eagles.
